Firstly I am going to explain about an island called miscelania the island is to the far north of runescape it can be found only once you have done a quest called thrown of miscilania this quest isn't too hard however it involves a lot of running about between two islands. Once this quest is complete you will be rewarded, and the reward is that you get to become regent of the island. Whats the point you may ask well the point is all the islanders work for you so they can provide you with resources which may either be sold or you may use them to your advantage to level up some skills. For example the villages can be told to collect flax coal or herbs on top of this you can choose for them to get different types of wood such as mahogany or teak. All you have to do is deposit some money in the island for them to like you and keep your approval rating high this can be done by helping the islanders with various tasks such as chopping the trees or even farming for one of the islanders or you could mine if you prefer. You approval rating will determine how hard the people work for you.
What I normally do with the resources is sell them and invest the money back into the island and I found that it will increase it a lot. I had 2 mill in there and in 5 days it became like 5 mill which isn't bad for not doing anything.
